Diaphragm selection method of pneumatic diaphragm pumps

There are five commonly used materials for pneumatic diaphragm pumps: plastic, aluminum alloy, cast iron, stainless steel, and Teflon. Electric diaphragm pumps are available in four of these materials: plastic, aluminum alloy, cast iron, and stainless steel. According to different liquid media, the diaphragms are made of nitrile rubber, neoprene, fluorine rubber, PTFE etc. They are placed in various special occasions to pump various media to meet the needs.

Diaphragm selection method:

Incorrect material selection: The diaphragm should be selected according to the medium to be transported. Some diaphragms need to be customized according to the actual situation. For example, some diaphragms are not resistant to organic solvents. If you use a diaphragm pump to transport organic solvents, of course, it is easy to break. In addition, the temperature of the medium also affects the choice of diaphragm.

Correct and reasonable use: If the material is selected correctly, that is, the material of the diaphragm is just suitable for the material conveyed by the pump, and the quality of the diaphragm itself is no problem. The problem that the diaphragm is easily damaged should be related to whether it is used correctly. Diaphragm pumps are often operated at high speed, and frequent emptying and half-airing will affect the service life of the diaphragm. A large amount of solid particles in the fluid will also affect the service life.

The life of the diaphragm is limited by the number of times of use. About 8 million to 20 million times. If used correctly, it can be used continuously for at least 1000 hours to 3000 hours. If the diaphragm is always damaged, the biggest factor is that the diaphragm material is not selected correctly.

The durability of the diaphragm is related to the conveying medium and has nothing to do with the price. Like transporting sodium hydroxide solvent, butadiene rubber is better than fluororubber, and the price is much cheaper. In addition, it should be noted that the solid particles in the conveying medium should not be too much and should not be too large, which exceeds the specified value of the pump. Minimize the number of idling cycles of the diaphragm pump, the life of the diaphragm is also related to it.
